If you have been undergoing anxiety with panic attacks for a period of time you might be diagnosed as suffering from panic disorder. Being able to label ones affliction with a name may make it a lot easier to seek help as you then have a far better idea just what help you are trying to find. Overcoming panic disorder isn’t a thing which will materialize by swallowing some magic medicine that a doctor gives you. Drugs just serve to control the symptoms and won’t operate on the level that actually created your panic and anxiety to start with.

Defeating panic disorder necessitates that the fundamental reason for the affliction is addressed. This is a behavioral problem that was learned probably over time or in reaction to some traumatic experience. Your body and mind have basically come to be trained to enter a flight or fight response in inappropriate circumstances. In other words you experience anxiety or panic attacks in reaction to situations that are not life-threatening. For this reason eliminating panic disorder can be possible by solving the process that resulted in your disorder to start with. Therefore you learned how to experience anxiety and panic attacks and therefore you can unlearn the process as well.

There are some well regarded self help programs that are very effective for beating panic disorder. These are Panic Away along with The Linden Method. Many thousands of people have overcome their panic problems with either one of these systems.

Changing your life style to accommodate more relaxing and comforting pastimes may help lower your anxiety levels and cause you to be much less prone to experience panic and anxiety. You might look at learning to meditate or joining a regular yoga exercise course. Meditation for example can lead you to an internal place of stillness and calm where you can get away from your anxiety. Yoga teaches deep breathing methods that will also enable you to really feel calm and help to alleviate your worries. It might help to give you something to pay attention to as opposed to all the things in your life which are triggering your stress and anxiety. Why don’t you treat yourself with a relaxing massage therapy or possibly a reflexology treatment. There are many different natural therapies. Give some a try and you may discover one that really helps you.

Never undervalue the role that diet can play in defeating panic disorder. Processed foods and food additives put an unneeded burden on the human body that will increase your stress levels. Look at changing to a more natural diet plan comprised of more raw and organic foods. Reduce your sugar consumption and stimulants like caffeine. Stimulants only work to make you more vulnerable towards triggers that set off your anxiety.

The natural high that happens following exercising can also assist with getting rid of panic attacks. If you are feeling good physically the mind is more prone to follow suit. You can try doing some aerobic physical exercise or rebounding on a mini trampoline.

Beating panic disorder is all about creating life-style changes that help cause you to feel much better about yourself. In this way you are not as likely to find yourself getting yourself into a situation where panic and anxiety take over.

Tips to fall asleep are in this article as it seems that everyone has problems with sleep.

A sleep disorder (somnipathy) is any disruption in the sleep patterns of an individual. While some sleep disorders may leave you feeling unrefreshed, a number of symptoms are more severe including excessive sleepiness, snoring, difficulty falling asleep during normal sleeping hours and abnormal behaviors such as restless leg syndrome. There are even disorders that cause you to get too much sleep.

Particular behaviors during normal daytime activities are telltale signs of sleep deprivation. If you are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms during the day, you may not be getting enough restful sleep at night, and you may even have a sleep disorder.

Do you:
• Feel irritable or sleepy during the day?
• Have difficulty staying awake when sitting still, such as when watching television or reading?
• Occasionally fall asleep while driving?
• Have difficulty paying attention or concentrating at work, school, or home?
• Perform below your potential in work, school, or sports?
• Often hear that you look tired?
• Have difficulty with your memory?
• Have emotional outbursts?
• Feel tired enough to require a nap almost every day?
• Require caffeinated beverages to keep yourself awake?

Each type of sleep disorder has its own particular symptoms, but each results in some of the above signs of sleep deprivation.

If you suspect that you are not getting enough sleep or that you might have a sleep disorder, speak to your physician or a sleep specialist. If your health care professional feels that you may have a sleep disorder they may ask that you keep a sleep diary, or they may even have you stay overnight at a sleep center for observation.

But if you just have an occasional night when you can’t get to sleep, here are some tips that might help turn bad sleep habits into good sleep habits.

Make sure your bed is comfortable. Different types of mattresses help with different issues. Some mattresses are made to accommodate different types bedmates’ sleeping habits and comfort levels. Others are made to adjust to your firmness preferences. In addition, try therapeutic-shaped foam pillows that cradle your neck or extra pillows that help you sleep on your side. Make sure your sheets are com¬fortable and clean.

Ensure your bedroom remains primarily a place for sleeping. Don’t use your bed for paying bills, doing work, etc. Help your body recognize that this is a place for rest or intimacy. That means move your television, computer and office out of the bedroom

Keep your bedroom peaceful and comfortable. Make sure your room is well ventilated and the temperature is consistent, and try to keep it quiet. If you have a problem with out¬side noise, a fan or a “white noise” machine can help block it out.

Hide your clock. A big, illuminated digital clock may cause you to focus on the time and make you feel stressed and anxious. Place your clock so you can’t see the time when you are in bed.

Do not nap during the day. If you are having trouble sleeping at night, try not to nap during the day. If you are feeling especially tired and feel as if you absolutely must nap, be sure to sleep for less than 30 minutes, early in the day.

Limit caffeine and alcohol. Avoid drinking caffeinated or alcoholic beverages for several hours before bedtime.

Don’t smoke. Nicotine is a stimulant and can make it difficult to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Expose yourself to bright light/sunlight soon after awakening. This will help to regulate your body’s natural biological clock. Likewise, try to keep your bedroom dark while you are sleeping so that the light will not interfere with your rest.

Exercise early in the day. Twenty to thirty minutes of exercise every day can help you sleep, but be sure to exercise in the morning or afternoon. <a title="Easy solutions helping you relax" href="http://bestinsomnia.com/home_insomnia_remedy.html">Exercise stimulates the body and aerobic activity before bedtime may make falling asleep more difficult.

Check your iron level. Iron deficient women tend to have more problems sleeping, so if your blood is iron poor, a supplement might help.

But if you use these tips and still have problems with sleep, it may be a symptom of some other medical condition, so you need to see your doctor to discuss your problems sleeping.

Depression is a disease that is thought to affect around one in every twenty men. Trouble is, most men are highly unlikely to recognize the symptoms of male depression, let alone admit we’ve got it.

Men react to depression differently from women. Men are more likely to become angry or aggressive as a result of their depression. So immediately that makes it more difficult to spot.

Those signals mean that male depression can show itself as anger when driving, sudden loss of temper, that kind of thing. These outbursts can quite easily be thought of as being “just usual” whilst they’re actually just the tip of the iceberg.

Most men find it difficult to talk about their feelings. Even otherwise “modern” men can find it difficult to talk. It’s often considered failure if you can’t deal with your own feelings.

So that can rule out the typical “just talk about it” advice that women can be given if they’re depressed.

You may consider that the correct thing to do is to bottle up your feelings. But longer term, it’s really bad for you. Those feelings can literally eat away at you.

So what can you do to cure your male depression? If you can pluck up the courage to talk about your feelings – maybe under the guise of a fishing trip or similar – then that’s good. If that’s a non-starter, maybe pretending that a friend has this problem and you can’t mention their name. Men are natural problem solvers, so there’s a high chance you’ll get some excellent advice if you go in this direction. Your doctor can also prescribe drugs which may help in the short term until you can find a better solution.

A different way is to use a totally discrete option to put an end to your male depression. The anonymous nature of the internet has an advantage here. You can download depression help at the click of a button and no-one (except your credit card company’s computer) will know you’ve chosen this route. You can then read or listen to the anti-depression material at your own pace.

Discover more ways to combat male depression here.

anxiety disorders plague many Americans and people all over the world. Each disorder has its own unique set of symptoms and no two are identical; however, there is one symptom of an anxiety disorder that can occur no matter what your condition; the panic attack. Anxiety panic attacks happen and with them come an array of different reactions. Educating yourself on what a panic attack is may be the best way to prevent them.

An anxiety attack is a symptom of various anxiety disorders. If you suffer from them, then it’s important to realize what they are. An attack is when someone’s anxiety and stress levels balloon to a point where they cannot control it. They suddenly begin to fear their surroundings, fear they are dying, having a heart attack, or are going crazy. It is a cognitive episode where your mind will tell your body it is experiencing discomfort that likely doesn’t exist and can last from one minute to fifteen minutes. Often an attack will make a person live in fear of the next attack, which only worsens the stress they are under.

Experiencing an anxiety panic attack can send anyone into a frenzy, and people with anxiety disorders know how crippling they are. Instead of living your life in fear you can learn how to control them. Anxiety panic attacks usually come on unexpectedly to most people, but what if there was some way you could know it was coming? There are triggers or patterns present when a person is about to have an attack. If you know these, then you could learn to prevent them. If you find yourself having an attack, then the best thing to do is to make yourself stress free and start speaking out loud in a positive manner.

You can take the controlling techniques to a higher level in order to get rid of your anxiety panic attacks. You can start out by teaching yourself relaxation practices. You’ll want to choose something that’s appropriate for you. Some of the more popular choices are listening to relaxing music, reading and practicing yoga. Once you learn what an anxiety panic attack is and what to do to control them your life should be on the road to recovery. Anxiety disorders can make life complicated but with a clear head and a lot of determination you should be able to handle whatever they throw your way!

Everyone has moments when they are anxious. It is a natural response to unfamiliar situations. But some people have anxiety disorders that prevent them from dealing with day-to-day life. They stay sheltered inside their homes and avoid contact with other people. This is not healthy! If you suffer from this disorder then you know that you have to find the help that you need. There are resources that can help you rid yourself of that anxious feeling and allow you to live a normal life. If you are ready to take that first step and get help. Click here to cure anxiety attacks today.

The Economic Downturn Can Bring Social anxiety or Depression

anxiety is one of those emotions that is really covering up some other problems in your life. People who have panic disorders can often have a lot of scary feelings that make no sense to them. For example, they may have some enormous feelings of depression that they don’t reveal to anyone else. I have a friend who was scared of strangers. She couldn’t hide her fear because in our neighborhood we had so many apartment complexes with people coming and going all of the time. Everything she needed was within walking distance of her apartment. She was so fearful of going out that she would order her meals and groceries to be delivered so she could stay inside the house. Finally, She went to see a therapist and it turned out her real anxiety was due to some suffocating feelings related to her family life. It seems odd at first glance, but stress often operates like a self-defense mechanism.

When You Should Look Out For Social Anxiety

If you have unreasonable fear of something you might want to consider that your panic is covering up another problem. The anxiety works to distract your mind. It’s like displaced anxiety. Most of us can figure out what the real problems are in our lives if we just open up our minds to the truth. But you will have to make a commitment to deal with the honest truth.

Social anxiety can present as stress signs of a very particular social situation. It can also impact all aspects of a life outside of the house. In some extreme cases, people might try to completely remove themselves from any and all stressful situations that have been known to trigger extreme feelings of fear.

If the panic attack condition is properly diagnosed and treated, there is a very good chance a patient can overcome the situation. In many cases , a combination of medications and/or therapy will be prescribed to help a sufferer regain control over their life and social situations. Being a little apprehensive in public situations is not at all abnormal. If there is a family history of anxiety disorder , this can play a role in helping determine the right treatment for anxiety.

The Symptoms Of Social Anxiety Stress Signs

Since many of the symptoms of anxiety also mimic life-threatening and serious physical conditions, it is almost always advised that a physician be the one to determine the root cause. Even if the triggers are “obvious” social anxiety, such as an extreme fear of strangers, being in public or going to job interviews, a physical evaluation is almost always called for.

With an estimated 40 million Americans living with the impacts of anxiety disorders, the need for proper treatment is evident. Mental illness can create symptoms that make getting through everyday life difficult at best.

high functioning autism

Individuals who suffer from a disorder that causes impaired social behaviors, slow repetitive patterns and decreased motor abilities are normally diagnosed as having Asperger syndrome or AS. This disorder shares many of the same symptoms as high functioning autism and is in the autism spectrum of disorders, making it difficult to diagnose. While they are similar, they do have their differences and at times are treated differently. Also, those individuals with AS differ from autism patients in that there are normally no language skill delays.

Hans Asperger, an Austrian pediatrician, was the first to pinpoint the disorder in 1944, when he described his patients as failing to demonstrate empathy, as well as lacking nonverbal communication skills. It wasn’t until 50 years later that this syndrome was finally recognized and classified as an actual disorder. Today, there are still many questions about the autistic disorder-like impairment. There has long been doubt about the differences in high functioning autistic individuals and those that have AS.

The symptoms of Asperger syndrome are managed by different treatments and individual plans to help the patient develop increased vocational and communication skills. These plans are made depending on the age of the patient and their individual needs and can be adapted as each individual progresses. While several methods are used, it is not completely conclusive that certain intervening methods work. Physicians can use similar procedures to treat autism patients who are highly functioning and AS patients.

Experts still do not fully understand asperger syndrome. Even with all of he studies that have been done on this disorder, there is still little known about it to offer a complete understanding. AS experts and physicians who treat this disorder know that the symptoms are very similar to those of the high functioning autistic disorder. It is truly not known if there will ever be a cure found, but new information is being found all of the time, yet unfortunately, there is still much to learn. Physicians have been able to make great strides in helping those affected with this disorder to increase their ability to be social and to stop certain repetitive behaviors. Hopefully, in the near future there will be enough information to totally eliminate this disorder and help those who are suffering to live far more productive lives.

Life comes at us fast. As it does we begin to feel the negative affects taking a toll on our lives.
Learn Abdominal Breathing

We are often told to take a deep breath when things get a little stressed or we feel anxious. Some say this doesn’t help them relax at all. Some feel taking a deep breath actually increase stress levels and makes relaxation more difficult. Abdominal breathing is the key to learning to handle stress. Learning abdominal breathing when you are calm is a very good relaxation technique that you can use when you are stressed. After stress takes it toll willl be too late to learn these things. Learn when you are calm and relaxed to get the most benefit. This is what I mean.

Place one hand on your abdomen and another on your chest. Slow down and breathe deep. Which hand moved? Concentrate on breathing in very slowly until the hand on your abdomen moves with your breathing and the hand on your chest remains still. Practice this twice a day in front of a mirror and soon you will see the results. As soon as you do, you will quickly feel the results. Be careful not to take to many deep breaths, as this will make you dizzy. Abdominal breathing can be a very effective relaxation method to calm your mind and body.

Learn Stretching Techniques

Here is a very simple and quick technique you can use anywhere. When you feel tense or anxious, you body sends extra blood to your muscles and makes then tight and tense. You might get a headache from this and your shoulders may begin to ache too. Your jaw may clench as stress increases. Stretch your muscles regularly throughout the day to reduce the stress in your body.

Stretch your body as often as possible by standing up and reaching for the ceiling. This will relax the muscles and help you to breath better.Relaxing your muscles help you breath deeper more relaxing breaths. Do this throughout the day to reduce your stress level. Excercises you can do anywhere are found in yoga.

Use Relaxation Audios

Learning relaxation techniques take time and patience like any skill you learn. Using audios for several weeks is a great way to help you learn to quickly and easily. Using this once or twice a week will maintain the beneefits and maintain mazimum effectiveness. Relaxation audios help you concentrate on the sensations needed that will cause you to relax and help slow down your busy mind. Subliminal audios are also effective because they work on a sub-conscious level. you can learn skills that will help you relax in almost any circumstances according to reports we have been getting.

Anyone who’s experienced an anxiety attack before knows just how scary they can be. People who suffer from an anxiety disorder, who have frequent anxiety attacks, also understand how debilitating they can become.

Panic and severe anxiety can result in a disruption of daily life that can lead to a downward spiral of isolation and depression. Modern medicine has created several drugs to control
anxiety disorders and depression. These drugs fall into several categories including MAOI’s
(Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors) and SSRI’s (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors). SSRI’s such as Paxil, Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, and Celexa are the most commonly prescribed.

Anxiety Cures

While effective in most patients, antidepressant drugs usually come with a cost.
Antidepressants are powerful prescription drugs that cause serious side effects for many people who take them. Common side effects of SSRI’s include nausea, headaches, diarrhea, weight gain, sedation, and sexual side effects.

Antidepressants have even been linked to suicide in young patients. Prolonged usage of antidepressants frequently result in a higher drug tolerance in patients leading to increased dosages to receive the same desired effect. Further, there is a risk of addiction and frequent withdrawal problems linked to these antidepressants.

Natural Anxiety Relief

Fortunately, there are now effective natural anxiety treatment alternatives to antidepressants. They fall into two categories – cognitive behavioral therapy and natural dietary supplements.

Cognitive therapy involves the participation of a psychotherapist or psychiatrist who have one on one sessions with the patient. This approach focuses on altering the patient’s thinking patterns and developing coping mechanisms such as slow breathing techniques. Patients learn how to detect faulty fight-or-flight response mechanisms within the body that are triggered causing anxiety and panic attacks.

The second category of natural anxiety treatments are dietary supplements. Natural dietary
supplements offer effective treatment for anxiety and depression without the risk of adverse side effects or possible addiction of antidepressants.

Natural herbal remedies have been used for centuries around the globe in many cultures to cure anxiety symptoms. There is now a growing trend towards more natural alternatives to powerful antidepressants. Natural herbs and vitamins can boost one’s overall immune and nervous system creating more resistance to anxiety. Further, select supplements found in nature can be very effective to treat anxiety and panic attack symptoms.

Overcoming Anxiety

Since dietary supplements are not regulated by the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) caution is recommended in selecting an effective natural anxiety supplement that works for you. Studies show that a combination or ‘blend’ of several anti-anxiety herbs and vitamins offers the most effective treatment results.

The Autism Research Institute, or ARI, is a huge worldwide network of parents and professionals who are concerned about the affects of this autistic disorder. The ARI’s data banks are filled with case information and case histories on over 40,000 children with an autistic disorder from around the world. It is this Institute’s hope to be able to bring awareness to the world about these autistic disorders and to fund more research so that one day there will be a cure.

The founder of The Autism Research Institute was recognized internationally as an authority on autistic disorders and who also had a child with autism; Bernard Rimland, Ph.D. Doctor Rimland is the author of a prize winning book named Infantile Autism. It was because of his experiences with this disorder that he was able to help many parents world wide to understand their autistic child on a whole new level. Doctor Rimland also worked on the motion picture Rain Man as the chief technical advisor.

The Institute publishes a quarterly newsletter that covers the different advances in the world of autistic disorders. These advances include those of a biomedical nature and those that refer to education. This Institute is a non-profit organization which relies on chartable contributions from those who understand and are concerned with the needs of individuals who have autism spectrum disorders. The ARI believes that its purpose is to help parents of autistic children who are overwhelmed by fear and grief and to motivate them to find help to cope with the situation.

While it is the hope of experts and parents that someday there will be a cure for autistic disorders, at the moment a cure is not near. The agenda for organizations, such as the Autism Research Institute, is to further educate individuals about the autistic spectrum disorders and to raise awareness on how much research is needed to find the illusive cure. Dr. Rimland believed that the lifestyles of individuals with this disorder could be improved upon and the stress on the families of the autistic patient could be lightened, by sharing his research and experiences.

OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder, is a condition in which people suffer from obsessions or fears about specific behaviors and then develop compulsive behaviors to help them compensate for the fear. For instance, people who have OCD that centers around germs or dirt will fear germs they can’t see and develop behaviors to compensate such as compulsive hand washing, bathing or compulsive dishwashing.

For decades people have been searching for natural remedies to medical problems that will both answer the need of the patient and decrease the side effects of taking medications. There are several natural OCD supplements that have been found to be effective.

It wasn’t too long ago that many psychologists and psychiatrists believed that OCD was solely a psychological condition which a person suffered if they experienced aggressive or premature potty training. These individuals adapted to the lack of bowel control by overcompensating control over the environment.

Today scientists and researchers know that it has both physical and emotional /mental responses. Researchers have found that some people are born with a predisposition to OCD and others have noted a great improvement in their condition when chemicals in the brains of the sufferers are brought back into normal balance than just behavioral or psychological treatment.

Natural OCD supplements must also address the fact that there are biochemical issues which predispose the person to suffer from the symptoms of OCD. Some of the medications that are approved by the FDA to treat OCD are Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) also known to treat depression.

Since serotonin is a chemical that travels across the nerve synapse and acts as a neurotransmitter nourishing the nervous system to assist in the release of more serotonin. To achieve some of the same things without medication you can:

1. Stop using caffeine altogether. If you are a regular coffee or tea drinker coming off of this drug gradually may decrease the withdrawal symptoms.

2. Bring your cholesterol above 170 (now that’s a switch) because below that number the body doesn’t have the good fat stores to repair the myelin sheaths important in the nervous system.

3. Ensure that you are getting the minimum requirements of the B-complex vitamins. These vitamins are important in the function of the brain and the chemical releases necessary to be productive.

4. Get your Omega – 3 fatty acids to help nourish the nerve sheaths. Since eating fatty fish, such as salmon, isn’t feasible each day you can use 1 tbs of Flax seed oil or 2 tbs of milled flax seed.	Spirulina capsules 8-10 per day to help nourish the nerves and myelin sheaths.

A nervine herbal blend to help treat the nerves. As at your health food store for a blend of herbs that contains Valerian but isn’t Valerian alone. Take the recommended dose on the bottle for one week and then increase the dose by one pill every four days until dreaming returns. Once dreaming maintain the dose until dreaming consistently. Now drop the pills back by one a day until dreaming stops. Increase the dose to get dreaming and stay on this dose.

Results from this regimen usually begin to appear about 3 months after consistent dreaming has happened. People can be symptom free within 9 months. Continue the regimen for 3 months after symptoms disappear and then it can be discontinued.

Another natural OCD supplement that should be considered with any other regimen is cognitive behavior therapy. This ‘talking’ therapy will help the individual break the behavioral habits that happen with OCD. Often people with OCD have coexisting problems that include depression and other anxiety disorders as a result of dealing with the social issues around the OCD.

Cognitive behavior therapy will help those with anxiety or depression to relearn behaviors that will help the healing process progress. Natural OCD supplements consist of both behavioral help and herbal remedies that will increase the odds that healing will be successful.

Another method that has been used to successfully treat OCD is EFT. I have mentioned this process in other posts but here is more information on using EFT to treat OCD.
